gday ,, im left handed, play geetar and bass right handed too,
thinking of playing uke left handed,
you dont need left handed chord diagrams, most uke chords are 2 or 3 finger stuff anyway, use your eyes and convert them over!!! oh, and your BRAIN!
I taught myself left handed geetar from looking at people playing right handed its a piece of piss!
What i mean by this is, look at a D chord right handed,,,,,,,,,, it looks EXACTLY the same when we hold our guitars left handed, youjust need to train your eyes to your brain,,,,,, should take 5 mins......

Yes, but I have a follow-up question that I really hope someone can help me with: What about when the guitar chords say to put on a capo, for example on the 5th fret. Then how do you translate these to the ukulele? It comes out sounding all wrong when I play them like they are written, obviously because of the capo thing.
A million thank you's to whoever has an answer to this problem!

A couple of reasons to use hide glue. It's watersoluble, so you can take an instrument apart later if necessary. More important from my perspective is that it dries "hard", and isn't as likely to dampen vibrations as much as some glues which dry "softer". It also tends to suck the joint tighter as it dries, relying less on extreme clamping pressure to get a good joint.
Anyway, those are my opinions... :)

# Ukulele guitar says:
October 5th, 2009 at 11:55 pm

"Ah.. mandolin capo is a good idea. Why is it, though, that mandolin players can get quality tools for their inferior (to the almighty ukulele, anyway) instruments? Heh. I mean, sure, my ukulele might have only cost $20, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to treat it like it only cost $20."

I love playing my both my uke and my mandolin, but are you seriously saying the mandolin is inferior? What makes you think this exactly?

There is a lot of snobbery in the ukulele world. If you have a laminated uke, the instument is immediately dismissed as having little merit musically. Even ukes with a solid wood soundboard like mine, are disparaged by those who swear (despite no evidence, and even some to the contrary) that all solid ukes have a much better tone. It would be interesting if someone were to produce an all laminated uke which sounded so superb that they couldn`t ignore it.
